Casey Cowan is the the youngest of six children born to Stevie and Amelia Cowan. He was raised on his family’s dairy in Balko, Oklahoma. Growing up, he and his siblings all helped with the dairy. The Grade A facility milks approximately 130 head twice daily. Casey graduated from Balko High School in 1994 and went on to play four years of college football at NWOSU in Alva, OK and Texas A&M-Commerce. Once completing college he returned to his roots where he went to work for ADM as a crop consultant and once again helping his family on the dairy.
Brandi (Burke) Cowan is the oldest of three children born to Rick and Shelley Burke of Follett, Texas. She graduated from Follett High School in 1997 and pursued her college degree from NWOSU in Business Administration and Accounting. Casey and Brandi met in October of 2000 and were married in 2002. Casey became interested in making cheese using his family’s milk and in early 2003 they visited the Watonga Cheese Factory in Watonga, OK to look at some used cheese making equipment the facility had for sale. Upon talking to the group of investors who had purchased it several years earlier from the original owner, the Cowan’s were presented with the option to buy the facility. After nine months of negotiations, the paperwork and funding were in order to close the deal.
Casey and Brandi have two boys. Cohl and and Caine both attend Balko School. They love playing sports, riding go-karts and hanging out with friends and cousins. Their youngest son Caine was born after the inland hurricane destroyed the cheese factory in Watonga. They appropriately call him the Hurricane! While keeping busy with their boys and the factory, Casey also has a swathing and haying business and a cattle company while Brandi owns a Bookkeeping firm in Perryton, Texas.
